A considered approach
The art of feeling at home in your hair
Saint James Hair Studio was founded in South Melbourne in 2011 by James, a Sassoon Academy trained stylist and Australia Asia Colour Champion 2006. Over 55,000 clients have been styled in the chair since, and seven former team members have gone on to open salons of their own.
Today the studio runs as an intimate, solo setup — James on precision cuts, blonde foiling, fashion colour and perms, joined by Zoe on Saturdays. Saint James Hair Studio has been a Gold Salon Select with the Australian Hairdressing Council since 2014. We don't offer bridal or makeup services; our focus stays on cutting and colour, done properly.

Our resident colour specialist
Zoe is Saint James Hair's resident colour specialist, in the studio exclusively on Saturdays. Wholly dedicated to her craft, she brings sharp focus and deep expertise to every client in her chair.
She specialises in seamless balayage, rich bespoke tones and complex colour corrections, always protecting the integrity of your hair while delivering vibrant results.

Our Namesake
A name drawn from the pilgrim's path
Saint James Hair takes its name and mark from the Camino de Santiago de Compostela — the centuries-old pilgrimage route winding from France into the hills of northwest Spain. Established in 2011, the studio draws its essence from that same spirit of journeying: with ourselves, with our clients, and always moving forward.
Every appointment carries a little of that pilgrim's mindset — growth, dedication, and the belief that the way there matters as much as the destination. It's what turns a visit to the chair into something more than a haircut.
